Island Retreat Spa is the hub for Bald Head Island's fitness and wellness activities!
Classes at Island Retreat are designed for both beginners and experienced students, with guided cues and hands-on assists when needed, and private individual and group sessions are available for more personalized attention.
Spa Group Fitness is offered on our shaded, fan-cooled covered porch, and in our new air-conditioned micro-studio space, which accommodates up to five students at a time. Off-site private sessions at your rental or home are available upon request.
Spa Class Pricing includes mats, blocks, straps and all other equipment as needed for the class.

At the Spa | $125 base rate
Off-site | $150 base rate
+ $25 per additional student after first two
*The 3-Class Solo Pass is designed for one user and has a 30-day expiration date.
** 5-Class and 10-Class shareable passes may be used by multiple guests in your party and have a 12mo expiration date.
When booking classes online, please note only one class space can be reserved at a time, even with shareable passes.

Gil (pronounced like "Jill") has a passion for all things movement!
Her passion for yoga is deeply rooted in her collegiate and competitive dance background. In 2020, she received her 200-hour certification from the Yoga Alliance and became a certified Baptiste Educator.
Gil strives to incorporate her knowledge of anatomy into classes to optimize the body’s function.
Her practice is both strong and playful. In her classes, she strives to uplift, inspire, and guide students through a sequence that balances physical practice with mindfulness and meditation.

Spencer is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher who brings a grounded, hands-on approach to every class. She’s passionate about strength, functional movement, and understanding how the body works—helping students build confidence, awareness, and resilience along the way. Spencer loves finding ways to bring yoga into everyday life, believing that what we practice on the mat should support us out in the real world. Her classes are a blend of challenge and support, always aimed at helping people feel stronger, more connected, and more empowered in their bodies.
